From the Chair
If not me, who?
I have to admit, I haven’t been as active in the last year as I would have liked to be. However, after looking at the direction the opposition party wants to take our state and nation, I finally realized that if there was going to be change, I must play a part in it. As an Idaho Democrat, and a transplant to boot, (I’m a Montana native) was I going to just give up and not at least put up a fight? As Democrats, we suffer the slings and arrows of a conservative area. We can handle that. What we as Democrats cannot accept is the total abdication of our beliefs in a better society for all. These are Democratic principles. We, the people are the government. We decide what kind of county and nation we will accept. We alone are responsible to make a difference in the lives of our fellow citizens. Without an active and principled opposition, we live in a dictatorship, where our Governmental officials are selected by a few, and serve the few.
So. are you willing to stand up for what you believe in? Are you willing to put in a little effort to insure the ability of your children and grandchildren to realize a better life? Do you care about your own future in retirement? If so, join me and the others in Bingham County who believe we can make a difference. Drop me a line at admin@binghamdems.org and let me know your thoughts.
